He caught her eye She caught his fancy She thought him sly She thought him chancy He made his moves She made her promise She was his muse He was her Momus She found him nuts Their fight came nightly He crushed her guts He crushed her psyche Down she was put Much did he flaunt it Down went her foot Down went the gauntlet He tried to stall She tried to dismount He wanted all Complete with discount She won't back down He won't back off her She leaves this town To ditch this quaffer She takes his leave He takes her buffer He can't believe She can't be suffered He's not her John She's not his Jackie She's not his pawn He's not her lackey Take it or leave it...?

She sees the bottled burnt-sienna campaign Creating filler for its eternal thesis She's got a tribal band tattooed 'round her brain She moves the needle with her telekinesis Another note in her dissonant symphony She passes over all the Herfindahl whores The fiscal sigils with their biblical poses She wanders on in hopes of nursing her sores She stops and smells the cylindrical roses Another note in her dissonant symphony The plastic irrigation plant down the street Provides her comfort and a passing connection A blizzard leads her to a place so discreet Windows by Johari line his house of correction Another note in her dissonant symphony Nature's neon brings an instant malaise She finds herself adjacent to a puddle on linen She discards her London mindset and prays To find adhesive for the web that she's spinnin'

(Translation: We've been waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting We've waited long enough. we'll wait no longer Because we no longer want to live this way Because we can no longer live this way Because we no longer have to live this way So don't tell us to live this way What should we do now? The world is crumbling Hope is dissipating Are minds no longer worth using? We cannot bear this pollution Enough!)

They see nothing but a board beofre them And everyone they meet as a pawn They're as sketchy as a badly-drawn graffito And as thick as the wall upon which it's drawn It's not zero-sum It'll hold you back It'll hold you back Seeing enemies when none were presented Those to fight, those to disprove, those to blame Calculating what cannot be calculated They'll not assume control of their own game It's not zero-sum It'll hold you back It'll hold you back

An exhausting journey nowhere near its end Miles and miles of miles and miles A fatigued, thus altered state of mind Surmounts the current and pending trials For any hope of peace and respite Has become barren and constrictive By the pareidolic grille and beacons Equal parts judging and vindictive Aurora, clear and brilliant The arduous, needless limbo seems eternal Adrenaline ebbs and flows within Questions asked, thoughts racing, lies told One side befuddled, the other rife with sin Explanation fruitless, let alone negotiation Power and supremacy flex their might Irrelevant tribulations thrown into focus No regard whatsoever for wrong or right All from the light's work All in a night's work Arguments and pleas ignored, misdeeds imagined Undue punishments resulting, not to be repealed Bias breaks resolve, innocence be damned Documents, fate and truth all sealed

Under cover of the dark of night, their Target site bare, The boys venture out for the game With the tools of their trade in transit These filthy bandits Endeavor to stake their claim With no regard for the laws at hand, they Make their gangway To capture their ill-gotten lots They seem to revel in their victims' torment Inhaling their warm scent Their own needs tyrannizing their thoughts And so plays out the age-old tale The innocent perish, the privileged prevail Never mind their vile and sordid ways Just grease the right palms, and malevolence pays Rendering the prey's sanctuary Sanguinary Rejoicing in their reward They laugh their heads off as they leave, elated, At the newly fated And their pleas for mercy ignored Another set of tragic casualties laid New enemies made Of millions who voice their contempt But to the lads, it doesn't matter one bit For they're no culprits They deem themselves from justice exempt And so plays out the age-old tale The innocent perish, the privileged prevail Never mind their vile and sordid ways Just grease the right palms, and malevolence pays

I never paid the electric bill I never paid any rent I never paid my parking tickets I never paid, I never paid I never paid the price of admission I never paid my dues I never paid the cost of doing business I never paid, I never paid I never paid their ransom I never paid for all my crimes I never paid back all those bailouts I never paid, I never paid I never paid the remaining balance I never paid the ultimate price I never paid the piper I never paid, I never paid I never paid much attention I never paid you any mind I never paid into their point of view I never paid, I never paid

I. Quantized (or A Sordid State of Affairs) "One way or another, we'll escape" While sifting through the rubble And all remaining of the life they chose They set their past ablaze For reasons they don't care yet to disclose Ill-clothed, penniless & helpless The reconstruction far from underway Façade after façade laid out before them Each one but a chaotic attaché As the pendulous day marches onward By uncertainty, their roads are beset They'd be content to find their juste-milieu Never mind their raisons d'être Not another superficial hangup Not another goal overshot No more striving for 110% Just to find it all for naught Exposed to the world, fear tests their wills They become the Tell to its archer Those in their past, they feel, being better off And all will fall in place due to their departure But they've more pressing matters at hand Whence will their next meal arrive? Must they seek out and claim their stakes Or will a so-called "higher power" provide? II. Pabulum (Never fear, just breathe) Oh! To be meek and to do as you're told! Oh! To fit beautifully into the mold! Oh! To be aloof, never having to learn! Oh! To be youthful with money to burn! Oh! To conformity you remain loyal! Oh! To never know what it is to toil! Oh! To sit back as the world becomes rotten! Oh! To hell with it - let it all be forgotten! The suspect reassurance repeats ad nauseam In the most literal sense of the phrase For this queasiness engulfs them They can't stomach what's both here and yet to come And the headaches, enfeebling, Come and go in waves On the one hand, they're content to feel again On the other, when the hell will this be done? III. Aporia Beheld by stagnation Plagued by this drought They're stranded at the station Amongst the lowly rout With this lucid obfuscation Comes crippling doubt To its coarse humiliation They've become devout Minds are always racing Like the chariots of old They'll soon be interlacing And taking hold And the dreams they've kept on chasing Slip away into the cold And their nightmares, now they sing Twentyfold No strangers to this story Yet it still persists Just one more memento mori Atop the list But to remain in the quarry Is as welcome as a cyst They abandon inventory And seek out bliss IV. Celestial Annex We long for absolute catharsis We long for velveteen hues We long to shed this convolution We long to bask in the drone We long to embrace the celestial We long to find that perfect bond We long to shake off this malaise We long to shift the fulcrum We long for a picturesque future We long to get the hell out of Dodge We long to truly fuck the system We long to right our wrongs We long for a life worth living We long to cast aside illusions We long to make it all happen 'Cause we might not have that long at all V. Stand Clear of the Closing Doors, Please This is bound to get worse before it improves But, to move on, moving on behooves So pack your things and bid goodbye to all erstwhile And when you're ready, I'll meet you at the turnstile Well, here goes nothing If I don't do this now When am I gonna do it? What choice do I have? I don't really know But I may never know All I know is I'm ready... Yes, I'm ready... I said I'm ready...I think... Well...I'm as ready as I'll ever be... VI. Thank You For Holding (instrumental)

about

This 59-minute album was mostly done over the quarantine period, but has really been 3 years in the making overall. Covering a few different genres but maintaining an electronic, ambient or prog feel throughout, it features new tracks and a few that had yet to be finished and on a proper album. Half of it is quite electronic-sounding, the other half...not so much.

To anyone who wanted another avant-garde offering...sorry not sorry.
